Well it is not very easy to label them. Since three out of six in the group are Irish and the rest is Scottish. But as they say “it really doesn’t matter”. Although, if you ask me I will answer “to me they’re Scottish”. However let me explain you my point of view: if they met in Dundee a city is Scotland they must be Scottish. Right??
I got to know them on MTV in 2006. It was an insomnia night and I was watching TV. I was zapping channels between a bad movie on Intercine and a mix of old videos and news videos. And then suddenly I listened to something that caught my attention. Yes there they were and they were playing “You’re all I have”. I fell in love with their sound right away. And for a short period of time I got without any information about the band. Because I couldn’t copy the song’s name or the band’s name down. Although one luck day I found them by chance. From this day on I became a fan.
As I already said they met in Dundee in 1994 while they’re attending college by the way the singer Gary Lightbody is graduated in English. Gary went to Scotland to study and during that term he put the whole band together. It is not the well known group of nowadays. The bass player has changed once and two other guys have joined the band since the very begin.
Last year Snow Patrol released A Hundred Million Suns their sixth album. Which shows how they have improved as musicians and which is very different from “indie SP”. Some people usually say that the band has changed to sell CD’s and those are people who are not happy at all to their current music. In my opinion they are for sure very different from what it used to be but there’s no reason to get angry because in a certain point of our lives we all make up our minds. It’s a natural process.
If you fell curious my advice is “Eyes Open” the record that opened the mainstream’s doors to Snow Patrol. It has great songs that cover various aspects. I guess you won’t regret. O f course the older stuff is good too but as mention it is quite different.

I have made a mistake(one other...hehe) their names are in a wrong order.
ResponderExcluirWhen I wrote in that space named "Marcadores" I put it right, but now it's wrong.
Here's the right order:Paul, Nathan, Tom, Johnny and Gary.

The last thing...

Hi, Aline! I like to see Grey's Anatomy. And someday I was watching some videos in Youtube about Grey's Anatomy and I saw this song: "Open your eyes".
ResponderExcluirThis song is very nice, after that I discovered this song was of Snow Patrol.
You said you really liked them.
Very good your text about your idols.
See you.
I really liked your text although I don’t know Snow Patrol. Your text is very clear and easy to understand. Congratulations!
ResponderExcluirBut… I think incredible when we don’t know know music, [whatever] and “not at all” begin like this bands. I hated The Ramones, for example, but now I can’t live without. It’s really interesting. Ok, sorry for my little comment. Kisses Bianca ;)~~
Hii Aline! Sorry for the delay!
ResponderExcluirYour text is very good! =)
I don't know this band neither their songs! Maybe because I almost never watch tv..
Sorry but I don't have much more to say about this post just because I don't know them!
=/
I found some mistakes on your text:
*This sentence is difficult to understand, I think that you changed a letter and there are two commas missing: "if they met in Dundee a city is Scotland they must be Scottish." I think that should be something like "if they met in Dundee, a city in Scotland, they must be Scottish." (What do you think?)
*"news videos" the right is "new videos" isn't it? Because the plural of "new" has other meaning.
*"one luck day" Is that right? Or it must be "one lucky day"?? I rally don't know! If you know, please, tell me.
A suggestion: I think it will be better if you put the album's name in quotes.
*"who are not happy at all to their" I think it must be "who are not happy at all with their". Am I wrong?
*"as mention" shouldn't it be "as mentioned" ?
Well Aline, that's it..
Ah, just a suggestion to turn your post better: I think it would be better if you had put a video with a Snow Patrol's song. Don't you agree with that?
After you can comment with me about my comment! hehe
Kisses and hugs! See you tomorrow!
I have a problem to use ponctuation(??) in English.
ResponderExcluirThere aren't the same rules that we have in Portuguses, so...

Hi Aline!!!
ResponderExcluirI liked your text very much. I know the band Snow Patrol, but I know just the song "open your eyes". But now I am very curious about their new songs. So I am going to listen to it. I "met" a new band, I mean new for me, this vacation. It is Lifehouse. I liked their songs very much and became a fan of them.
That is it, Aline.
See you in the classs.

Ahhh ok Aline! So I have the same problem because I thought they were the same rules. =/
ResponderExcluirLet's ask to Rafael? x)
