Michael Jackson "King of Pop"

Today my post talks about the most incredible singer of the century, Michael Jackson, who died in the last Thursday. According to the press he died by heart attack in his own house in Los Angeles.
Michael Joseph Jackson was born on 29 August, 1958 in Gary. He started his cereer with 5 years old in a group called Jackson 5, Michael's brothers were in the group too. After that in 1971 he started to sing alone and years after he was call King of Pop, 5 of his albuns were very sucessfull, like Off the Wall (1979), Thriller (1982), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HiStory: Past, Present and Future- Book I (1995).
Michael was very well known about his dance, he created a new stile of dance, using mainly the foot, his main dance is the Moonwalk. His appearance's change was a mark and everytime that he appeared in public he was different, very white, with his nose shorter and slim and he was very ugly too. He made lots of plastic surgery and in his end of life Michael was weak and dependent of Morphine, Michael Jackson was preparing 50 concerts in Europe and he was going to start from England, because he was needing money to pay his bills.
So this is just some words about this big singer, because Jackson's career is enormous, unfortunatly he is gone, but his music and his dance always will be reminded by every fan, because Michael Jackson is a star.

Phobias: from preoccupation situation to a hilarious case.

It is very common on books used to teach and learn languages to have units with different topics. Since I have started to learn English I have came across to a big number of them anything that you could imagine: wheels, rebel, me, food, massage, animals, reincarnation, place, smile and lots more but the weirdest is for sure the one we are studying now.
While I was doing my research to find out how is called my phobia – in fact I don’t think I suffer from a phobia although let’s suppose as I do it – I got to know many classification of fear. Fearing something is definitely not funny the sensation of getting out of control it should be frightening for the one who is panic and for the others that are around this person. Our instincts are primitives we tend to have unpredictable attitudes in those situations in fact to have a phobia it’s a situation which puts people under medical care and it is also very ease to find on the web blogs or pages to support and to give advices to people in this position or to their relatives.
One the other hand we cannot escape from the comical side. I couldn’t hold myself while I was reading the phobias. There are dumbest things in the most cases and I wondered how can someone fear the biggest part of that. It is acceptable to be afraid of spiders, insects, or at least danger animals but to fear teeth (!!) please how is it possible???? I just cannot understand it doesn’t matter what is the person point. Another example is to be afraid of crossing streets we could think about that maybe the person is afraid of being involved in an accident but anyhow it sounds bizarre to me.
Although all this judgment I need to confess that I have a peculiar phobia too. I am afraid of “emos”. I didn’t find a name to my new phobia so I have decided to baptize it I call EMOphobia. I am very afraid to one specific person who has this style. I don’t really like him. In the very beginning I liked him because I though he was nice but after just fifteen minutes I realized I was completely wrong he is a very mean person. I got disappointed perhaps this is the cause of my phobia.

Let’s make a list of phobias but not by taking it from Internet let’s put our brains to work and have some fun.

The Sweetest Thing

Today I'm going to talk about a great movie that I've watched. The Sweetest Thing, it is a good choice for people who like comedy and a little of romance. In the cast is Cameron Diaz, Christina Applegate, Selma Blair and Peter Donahue.
It talks about Cristina a fanny girl who like parties and have fun with her friends. In one of these parties she meet Thomas and they start to get involved to each other, this man is in a bachelor party and he envites Cristina to go to the wedding. After that she decides to go there with a friend of hers, during the travel lots of funny things happens to them.
But when they arrive at the wedding she finds out something that will change her mind and the end you have to see, because I'm not going to tell you. The movie is very funny and Cameron Diaz's performance is wonderful. When I watched this movie I couldn't stop laughing, I loved each scene, I have already seen this movie about five times.
The Sweetest Thing was directed by Roger Kumble to Columbia Pictures in 2002, this movie has 84 minutes. It is very good and it is a great choice to people who like comedy and romance, the cast is very good and every actor's performance is great, the script and the soundtrack are fabulous.

France Year in Brazil

This year our country is promoting the “France Year” and I think is a good subject for a post because we are all involved with languages and because French has a lot to do with English.
We’re having festivities around the country and the reason for it is that in 2005 the opposite was true. Yes that’s right in 2005 France had a “Brazil Year” I don’t know how they called but it was probable something alike to how the Brazilian government is calling now.
From April until December we have the opportunity to enjoy yourselves watching something in tribute of this amazing country which is France. In many capitals of Brazil different spectacles are going to be performed. Of course it will be very hard to attend it but we can be happy because the third semester of Portuguese and French is promoting a similar thing here in our college. They have already invited three nice people to give lectures around the French culture and the French language.
I would like also to talk about the similarities between English and French. Now that I’m learning French I can see it clearly although during the first semester - together with Aline Brown, Evelise and Samantha - I made a paper explaining the origin of English when I could found out that English was very influenced by French in a age called “Middle English” when new vocabulary was introduced because English had a lack of it.
Some examples: the word cousin comes from French and it means the same but in the male gender the female on is cousine another example is fiancé which is male and fiancée which is female. Parents is one other example and there’s a lot more.

Now I want to propose a challenge try to catch the words that are similar in this songs. One is the original version in English and the other is the second version in French from a Canadian singer named Melissa Auf der Maur.Have fun!

Practice Sports

It is very important to our health practice one kind of sport. It was prove that doing sports turns your life better, but exist different kinds of sports to different kinds of people.
I love doing exercises, I always practice it when I have time. I like playing soccer with my friends, and I usualy run at the Avenue alone, I do that because my friends preffer walking. When I am running I like listening music, because this motivate myself and turns my effort easier.
I have done sports, but now with the College I don't have time anymore, because I study a lot. I know that I am needing practice more and because that I am trying to find some time to do it. I have thought that if I do some sport my life will get better, so at the and of the year I am going to the gym and I will start to change my life and rotine.
So as I said before it is healtier to us doing sports, I preffer soccer and run, but exist others like, Tennis, Golf, Volleyball, Basketball and Swimming. People who has heart's problem, people who are obese, or suffered one kind of acident need to do exercises. I don't have any problem, but I love it and I know how important is this.

Under Pressure

I’m sure I’m not the only one who is feeling a great weight in mind. Anyhow I don’t want to be misunderstood I’m not complaining but I’ve just realize this year is being harder and more tiring than the past one.

For instance during the first semester we took only three subjects in the very beginning. Because of that we had a very comfortable spare time in which we used to talk about funny things but almost never used to study. We just enjoyed each other’s company on the gas station near FaLe. At that time I thought being a college student was quite simple. Life was good and I don’t think I need to tell you how blind I was. I believe I don’t have to tell you because if don’t know yet you soon will find out.

At this point I’m able to see and also I’m clearly felling that the past is gone and from now on the situation is totally different and that we need to take responsibilities as all teachers ask the maximum of us. Up to a point they’re right because if they accept not committed student they’re classes won’t to make any progress.

Some colleagues have already showed symptoms of stress related to deadlines or tests. Each one of us knows where our trouble is. Not once I witnessed people having insecurity attacks. Sometimes it also happens with me pessimistic thoughts broke into my mind. But then I try to get my head organized in order to help myself. Therefore to worry isn’t the best option to succeed.

To don’t fail you must have a clear purpose what implies that you have to know at what you’re good and at what you’re not so good then this make you capable to take important decisions. Since the chooses made now will reflect in our future. Decide the way to take is easiest part the challenge is don’t despise the rest. It’s easy to get focus on one thing what in my opinion is dangerous because we know we have to pass all subject to graduate in four years.

I guess to reach our objectives we need to be down on earth and try to manage situation and arrange a studying schedule.

Jornalism

Today I'm going to talk about an old passion than I have, which is jornalism. Since my 16 years old when I started to think about my future I decided to do this course which is the most incredible profession in the world, in my oppinion.
I've thought about it a lot and I realised that jornalism is going to be my real profession. I know that if I do this course I will be very happy and sucesseful, because it is what I realy want. I love doing English course and I give it all importance that this course has.
I chose jornalism because I'm a very talkative person and because I'm very extrovert. Other very important reason is soccer, I love this sport, so because that I want to be a Sportive Jornalist. This is the only way that I found to work with soccer, and recently women are dominating this universe which in the old days were just for mans.
I intending to be a reporter, I want to be on the street and to pick the information, I want to interview the people and give my knowing to them. I've gone to a TV Satation, RBS TV, which is in Areal neighborhood and it is very big and well known. RBS TV is one of the Globo Station's branch which is the best and the biggest station in Brazil an Latin America.
So guys I showed to you one more passion that I have, but you've just known about that, but now you are knowing a little more about this incredibly profession and I hope that one day you can see me on the television, and you will see that I become a good and well known jornalist.
